Watched the program late last night, very cool. I thought that musically, the different interpretations of the songs worked extremely well. The standout arrangment for me was "Blackbird" with Herbie Hancock - just beautiful. That being said, I thought that the majority of the singing was mediocre, & under pitch. Stevie Wonder sounded great as usual, Dave Grohl was very good, Elvis Costello was good, & Macca sounded very good on the whole, but most everyone else didn't sing very well. Still enjoyable nonetheless. Nice to hear "Celebration" too, very well done. Also, "Ebony & Ivory" sounded really great, and I'm not even a huge fan of the song. Very Happy Cool stuff.

thanks for the link indeed.
it was a pretty flawless gig really.
even the stuff[artists] i would normally not bother with sounded really good and very sincere.
i though dave grohl was amazing.and the 'ebony/ivory' live duet was nowhere near as cheesy and bad as the original record and video!.
great performance.
WELL DONE AMERICA Very Happy

Thank you so much for posting the link, was really great to watch in the UK. Quite emotional too. Who else loved the duet with Stevie? Made the song come alive. Also great performances from Corinne Bailey Rae/Herbie Hancock and Elvis Costello's Penny Lane. In fact all of the performances were special.

Love ya Paul..

after watching the full Video on www.beatlesrarity.com, it switched me to www.pbs.org.for a few more minuets of the In depth Interview of Paul.
I am Gobsmacked at this interview!
other artist please take note, Paul is our Gershwin of our ERA! if I may say so. were soo Proud of him! he, not ever knowing, how my lyrics work, or formula is what comes out of my soul and heart, as I write, every night! and to me that is Precious! it comes from out their, different each time!!

as an artist myself, I am Goobedsmacked he receives his pieces, as if it were written in the Wind. I totally understand this process. as I do this myself!
( do you ever talk to someone and say: the more I talk to you, the more I find out about me? as if it had something to do with the psychology of the social audio elements. I total am into this! have been since I was 8 yrs old!m but never realized it until my Adult life. do you other artist here, understand what I am talking about? )

Paul has written Literature and put it to Music! and wrote his songs on the Tablet of our Hearts. Gershwin did it, Rogers & Hammerstein, Fred Astaire did it for me, with Ginger Rodgers, and made my heart dance with a little Romance, then Cary Grant, and Deborah Kerr, in an "Affair to Remember". made it possible for Paul to create words of love to everyone. for us to carry on, with to Gallantry, Valiance , and grace, as if Paul to had written A Viking, Shakespearean novel, where he is the Knight who, seamed to have rescued Humanity, to save our Innocence again! to retrieve and repair our hearts which had been wounded in soo many Battles, that we can read over and over again, and never tire of reading it into our hearts and minds and ears! for it is healing to all of us, who dare to dream the "Impossible". for were all connected Musically, spiritually, to bring peace, tranquility and honor back to Humanity again!
for Love and mercy, had been lost thru the ages, and Paul tries to bring back the innocence, and restored our soul and heart again!
so this is why he received this Prestigious Award!
the more I write most every night, I learn more about me, by listening to his music. Paul was Gobbedsmacked as well! WOW!

The program brought me to tears... To me, it was amazing to see this history in the making. I'm not an Obama fan, but this isn't political, so I won't go on about that, but I thought that the Pres. up on stage with his wife and kids singing Hey Jude together was a very special and historical event....

I think even Paul was thrilled with this particular award... Like he really needed another award! But he seemed like this one really meant something to him...

GOod for the PRESIDENT and good for OUR PAUL!!!!O
TOo bad it won't be released on DVD.

Better jump on it.

Many have already done that & there are a few copies floating around.

Celebration from Standing Stone -- the piano player was wonderful, so heartfelt, and great that they included this beautiful Paul piece in the program.

Saw the Nashville show. Wow, like always. Ready for 2 shows in Pittsburgh. What a great summer. Saw Ringo in Cleveland. Great! The White House show was awesome. Loved how sweetly Paul admonished Obama to do the right thing. The finger wag was so Paul. Wish they had the guts to show The Man pointing out what idiots Bush and Obama are, and at least Paul knows what a library is! Wish Paul would back a strong third party. Everyone must know by now it's our only hope. Go Veg!

If i want to find anything that was on TV i go to Hulu they always have it.

when these awards are given does Obama have any say so. Like these are my fav go get them . Dave Grohl of Nirvana would of been the music of his age group..

Does anyone know if Obama had any say so in the choices?

oh goodness no. Dave Grohl is a bud of Paul's. He played with Paul & gang before. And was even at an award show sitting with Paul & Nancy.
